COWGIRL DREAMS
This collection has been brewing for a long time now. From my time spent out in Wyoming working on a ranch, to my years spent riding horses, and to my love for the wild west and everything it has to offer, these cowgirls bring sass & a little whimsy magic to my imagination. Each color pallet and puzzle
like gold bits evoke different emotions while transporting me to a different place and time. The 5x7 pieces bring about movement and action in my mind. They remind me of everything I thought a
cowgirl should be when I was little...spunky, colorful, proud, confident, and most of all, free. The 4x6 pieces are meant to resemble rainbows going over the cowgirls, inspired by Kacey Musgrave's
song, Rainbow. Each their own color, reminding me that no ones rainbow looks the same. We all seek
that pot of gold, and it all winds up being different, but even so, we have a beautiful beam of color shining over us. My hope is that these bring inspiration to you in new ways and maybe transport you
to a memory or that "some day,""cowgirl" dream.
NEWEST RELEASE NOTE
This new body of work is very near to my heart. I am at a point in my life with many unknowns, extreme longing for consistency, while trying to find peace with every step knowing only God can bring the peace I long for... This body of work was born from a place of peace despite the unknown, a culmination of memories, and people and things I love. A place of trust and complete lack of control.
While there was control in a planning sense when laying down the layout for each piece, when it came to the painting part, I remained loose and allowed the paint to "direct" me in a way. Sounds silly, but I promise, when a painting guides you and gives you happy surprises and new marks you would have never thought of, it's like a mini Christmas morning kind of feeling.
This new drop is dedicated to my Husband's beautiful Grandmother, Earline who went to be with Jesus last week. What beautiful soul she was. A piece in this collection is named after her and is titled "Earline's Green Thumb." She was the queen of canning, and gosh, her carrot relish was too good. The title "green thumb" extends past a garden. It is meant to resemble her life in every facet. Her life produced fruit...good, great, rich, life giving fruit. She served others selflessly, loved others well, and spread her faith every step of the way. What a beautiful legacy she left us. Oh how she will be missed.
I'm proud of this body of work and I hope it speaks to someone. My journey since 2019 with being a full time artist has had its ups and downs but the gift of creating remains true.... Within chaos peace still abounds. My time in Wyoming working on a dude ranch changed my life in so many ways and it inspired a lot of my work I share with ya'll. I hope you enjoy and find some peace today!!!
